FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

At Phantom Elite we recognize the maze of challenges that often accompanies the AAU journey. That's why we're dedicated to providing you with an abundance of information to ease your path. From schedules to costs, practices to tournaments, we strive to empower our Phantom families with the knowledge they need to navigate this exciting but often complex terrain. Our aim is simple: to alleviate frustration and foster clarity, ensuring every player and family feels supported every step of the way.

Who are the coaches for this season?

  • Our Head Coach is Chris Krapf, certified CIAC High School Coach, with numerous years of AAU experience and a current private High School Football Coach. Coach Krapf will be assisted by current college coach as well. 

What is the practice schedule like?

  • We will practice three times a week for a two hour session. Practices will be at the Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School from 6:45pm - 8:45pm Tuesdays and Wednesday.

When and where are the tournaments held?

  • We have a total of six tournaments scheduled for this season. These tournaments will take place in various locations including the greater New Haven area, the greater Boston area, Maine and New Hampshire. We participate in tournaments hosted by established organizations like Zero Gravity, Vertical Hoops, Maine Hoops and Premier Hoops.  Below is our tentative schedule:

    • 04/20-21: Vertical Hoops New Haven, CT​

    • 05/18-19: Mass Premier Foxboro, MA

    • 05/25-26: Zero Gravity Fairfield, CT

    • 06/01-2: Zero Gravity Hampton Beach, NH

    • 06/15-16: Maine Hoops Old Orchard Beach, ME

    • 06/22-23: Mass Premier Foxboro, MA

How much travel is involved?

  • Our tournament schedule does involve some travel. While some families choose to commute for tournaments, others opt to stay in the area for the duration of the tournament. We try to assist with hotel discounts where possible to accommodate varying budgets.

What financial commitments are involved?

  • The cost for participating in the six tournaments this season is $600 which includes a full uniform. Payment can typically be made in two installments if needed. Practice player rates are also available.

What if my player cannot attend all practices and tournaments?

  • We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but we ask that families commit to ensuring their player can attend a majority of practices and tournaments. Consistent attendance is essential for team cohesion and performance however we understand that many athletes play more than one sport and we are happy to be flexible.
